The 4Cs, without the mystique
Every stone is graded on four things. You do not need to master them — but knowing what each one does helps you spend where it actually shows. If you remember only one, remember this: cut matters most. A well-cut stone will out-sparkle a bigger, lazier one every single time.
- CutHow the stone is faceted — the biggest driver of sparkle. Spend here first.
- ColourHow white it is, graded D (icy) to Z (warm). Near-colourless reads white on the hand for far less.
- ClarityThe tiny natural marks inside. Most are invisible without a loupe — 'eye-clean' is the sweet spot.
- CaratWeight, not size. Two stones of equal carat can look very different — cut decides which one wins.

Good questions, honest answers
Certification is the part that turns a beautiful stone into a documented one. These are the questions couples ask us most — answered the way we would answer them in the shop.
What does 'certified' actually mean?
Your stone comes with an independent grading report — GIA or IGI for diamonds, GRA for moissanite — listing its exact cut, colour, clarity and carat. It is your proof, in writing, that the sparkle is real. Documented, not just promised.
Will people know it's moissanite?
Not from across the table. Up close a jeweller might notice the extra fire — but on the hand it reads as a bright, white, beautiful stone. Plenty of couples choose it on purpose.
Is moissanite a 'fake diamond'?
No. It is its own real gemstone — silicon carbide — not a coating and not an imitation. It carries its own certificate and its own kind of brilliance.
Can I start smaller and upgrade later?
Yes. Because everything is custom, many couples set a modest stone now and reset a larger one for an anniversary. The design can be made to grow with you.
